ArtIst Statement

With a background in both Fine Art and Design I believe my work falls somewhere between the two and aims to blur the lines between Fine Art and Graphic Design. Often works starting in a physical state and then be manipulated digitally, this process can repeat itself several times until the initial starting point and the finished work are unrecognisable. These designs and patterns can then exist in a variety of different spaces; being printed, projected and scaled up or down onto a variety of different mediums. Key themes throughout my work explore, The Male Form, Masculinity, Signs and Symbols. Also drawing inspiration from greek mythology.

My works have always involved a design element to them and after studying graphics in my second year and as well as becoming the graphic designer for the creation of all marketing, media and merchandise for the Bath Spa Snowsports society, as well as other design based commissions, I have managed to develop my skills even further. My aim is to create innovative works that combine my fine art approach to working, with my design aesthetic often resulting in a fluid way of working which I then am able to edit later on in the making process.
